At the door of Stark Tower

He doesn't really have a phone anymore, at least not one that isn't a burner on the end of it's life, and that phone never had the number he needed in it, so he didn't call ahead. Instead, he's just there, heading for the front desk to see if perhaps, just maybe, he has a friend here. Or at least an ally.

"Steve Rogers for Tony Stark, please?"

Tony manages to restrain himself from biting Loki's hand.

"Mrph-- Hey. I'm a good guy. Good guys don't need to be polite."

"And thus we come to the biggest idealogical difference between us," but it was said without bite.

"It's nice that everyone's making friends, but unless you've decided that you suddenly don't mind me hanging around...?"

"You want a new phone or not?" Tony counters. He just.

Okay, Loki is the biggest asshole in the universe, but this version isn't quite as bad as the other one, ad the look on his face when Barnes shot his phone was like someone kicked his puppy.

"And I'm going to write you a proper letter," Steve says with a deep sigh, "so which should count for a little more than just my scribble on a page."

He looked to Loki.

"I'm sorry Bucky shot your phone."

He hadn't missed how much the god really enjoyed his electronics. And he would have pouted similarly if someone had shot one of his favorite books.

"He's... a little cranky sometimes. He's probably not sleeping enough."

Loki sighs, and slumps a little against Stark's bar.

"Thank you. Both of you," he adds after a moment. "I do appreciate it. But if your friend breaks my things again... geese."

He's about to pull out a piece if paper when he hears the 'threat'.

"As in, you're going to turn him into one or you plan to set them onto him?"

"Depends on what he breaks."

Look at him, being honest!

"Wait, you can't actually turn someone into a goose."

It. Doesn't work that way, nope.

"Which one do you consider worse?"

This is a very important discussion.

"Being transformed," Loki replies. "Being attacked by geese is a dangerous nuisance, but being unexpectedly transformed is... distressing."

"Then I would appreciate if you just sicced geese on him, in that case," he said, quite serious about the whole thing. Bucky didn't need any more trauma in his life, as far as Steve was concerned.

"As long as he doesn't break something of cosmic importance, I think that that's fair."

"I'll see that he doesn't."

It practically comes with a salute.

"I'll hold you to that," Loki says, very seriously.

"And I don't give my word lightly," he said in reply.

"I never thought you did." He meets Captain America's eyes without blinking, still ignoring Stark for the most part.

(Though the part of his mind that is always aware of certain things can't help but notice the way he's muttering to himself about physics and violations thereof.)

Steve actually flat out grins at Loki before ambling his way towards the elevator.

"I'll have that letter for you in about an hour."

It's said... warmly. With appreciation. And just a bit of respect.

Loki blinks. And tilts his head, and kind of.

Look, being treated like a real person and not a menace is kind of unusual for him, is all.
